Kate Moss, John Galliano, and Charlotte Rampling: A Look Back at Peter Lindbergh’s Freshest Faces
Peter Lindbergh first began practicing his elegant, simple black-and-white fashion photography on Charlotte Rampling and Tina Turner in the 80’s, before refining it with his portraits of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Linda Evangelista in 90’s, propelling both himself and those would-be supermodels to fame. Over the years, the German photographer has stayed true to simplicity, as showcased in Peter Lindbergh: A Different Vision on Fashion Photography, a 500-plus page tome out this week by Taschen to accompany Lindbergh’s major retrospective now up at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. Take a look back at his portraits, illuminated by John Galliano‘s giant, gleaming pair of shearing scissors, here.
