As a freezing North Dakota winter descends on the Oceti Sakowin camp near the Standing Rock reservation, activists stand strong against the building of the Dakota Access oil pipeline, which threatens the ancestral grounds and lives of the Native Americans who reside there. Along with thousands of protestors, including those in music, movies, art, and fashion, the photographer Driely S. spent four frigid days at the activist campsite, at the end of which she wrote an open letter asking President Obama to intervene: “Mic drop them, one last time please.” Here are her images on the ground.
