It’s good to have friends. When last night’s Lancôme party for Art Basel Miami Beach was canceled due to inclement weather, Stefano Tonchi phoned his pals at the Webster to see if they might accommodate a few more guests at the dinner he was hosting there for Ever Bamboo with Laure Heriard Dubreuil, Alexia Niedzielski, Elizabeth Von Guttman, and Patrick Li. John Joseph Lin—the behind the scenes master of ceremonies at this week’s events—quickly obliged. Tables were added to the seating plan, the chef whipped up a few extra tuna tartare, and the evening continued on without a hitch.

Given the crowd—which included Olympia Le-Tan, Andre Sariava, Nate Lowman, Elettra Wiedemann, Aaron Young, Cecilia Dean, Johan Lindeberg, and Tracey Emin—conversation was evenly split between art and fashion.

Of course, the most-oft overheard question was, “Where were you earlier?”

The answer: Some caught the performance at the Alchemist, where Chrome Hearts founder Richard Stark stood front row as his daughter Jesse Jo’s band played to a writhing crowd that included Erin Wasson, Joseph Altuzarra, and his boyfriend Seth Weissman. Altuzarra mentioned that he was looking forward to his Design Talk the following evening at Design Miami/, while Wasson sung the praises of local vintage gem C. Madeleine.

Others came from the Design District, where they had a manicure at Dior’s pop-up shop before swinging by Pringle of Scotland, which was debuting its new tongue-twisting liamgillickforpringleofscotland collection. Gilt City and Jetsetter hosted a beachside fete for Jetsetter’s book launch, Bon Voyage, at the Tent at Soho Beach House, where they’d set up their Style Lounge earlier in the day (well-heeled ladies and gents happily left with some Art Basel swag).

As for the week’s other party highlights, many at the Webster raved about the enchanted garden that Bally had created to celebrate the BallyLove #2 capsule collection—designed by Olaf Breuning at the Grove at the W Hotel—as well as Van Cleef & Arpels’ fantasy forest held at an Opa Locka airport hangar, and Cartier’s dinner in honor of Beatriz Milhazes.
