Between spending late nights filming on four (!) Marvel series for Netflix (including Daredevil and Jessica Jones), Rosario Dawson‘s also spending her summer working on Studio 189, her Ghana-based, artisan-produced clothing line with the designer Abrima Erwiah. The pair’s collaborated with the likes of Opening Ceremony, and now they’ve just opened up a pop-up shop in the Hamptons, which they celebrated at the Surf Lodge on Saturday. Here’s what else they’re partaking in, on our first joint culture diet.

First thing you read in the morning: Erwiah: WWD. Dawson: Texts and emails.

Books on your bedside table right now: Erwiah: Daniele Tamagni’s Fashion Tribes and Chimamanda Ngozi’s Americanah. Dawson: Freedom Is a Constant Struggle by Angela Y. Davis, Jean-Paul Goude‘s self-titled book, and Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef by Massimo Bottura.

The TV shows keeping you up at night: Erwiah: “An African City,” “Suits,” “Scandal,” “Daredevil,” and “The Good Wife.” Dawson: “Daredevil” seasons one and two, “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist.” (We shoot at night…!)

New York summer hang-out: Erwiah: ____ Backyard BBQs in Brooklyn. Dawson: Rooftops.

Summer travel destination: Erwiah: The north of Ghana in the national park (Mole Park). There is a stunning resort there called Zaina Lodge. Beautiful and luxurious and surrounded by nature and animals – elephants, monkeys, and such. Dawson: Ghana and Burning Man.

What you’re most excited to wear this summer: Erwiah: Studio 189 caftans … easy and breezy summer vibes. Dawson: Sunscreen.

Last song you had on repeat: Erwiah: ____ “One Dance” by Drake and “Hold Up” by Beyoncé. Dawson: Alice Smith’s “Fool For You,” but really the entire She album!

Last concert you saw live: Erwiah: I see live performance all the time in Ghana but the last major concert I saw was Rihanna’s Anti tour. And I think before that I saw Prince with Rosario – that was very special. Dawson: Damian Marley at the Cali Roots Festival.

How you get your news right now: Erwiah: Social media. Dawson: Articles through my friends, family, colleagues; occasional newspapers; “The Young Turks,” Democracy Now!, The Real News, and perusing online.
