Jennifer Lopez looks more elegant than ever at the 2017 Met Gala, wearing a high-necked, blue silk chiffon gown by Valentino and diamond hoop earrings by Harry Winston. But most notably the singer and actress hit the red carpet with the best accessory: her rumored boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.

Much like Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, this was Rodriguez and Lopez’s first official event together as a couple.

On her way to the red carpet, Lopez instagrammed a photo of the two of them together, captioned “Me and my macho bello…#MetGala2017 #Valentino.”

Lopez also shared not one but two photos of her dress. As simple in color and silhouette the gown may be, the length of her train ensures that all eyes will be on her when she walks into the room.

Her look seems to be a variation on a deep crimson gown that walked the design house’s spring 2017 couture runway in January. As red happens to be one of honoree Rei Kawakubo’s signature colors, it’s an interesting choice not to have opted for the dramatic hue, instead choosing a much more subdued shade of blue — perhaps it’s a nod to her TV show Shades of Blue?
