Oscar Nominee Isabelle Huppert Eyes Her Next Awards Show Look at Armani Privé

She’s found just the wardrobe for a bit of window shopping.

When French actress Isabelle Huppert claimed her Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Paul Verhoeven’s Elle, it was wearing an Armani gown comprising an icy blue silk skirt and mesh top with silver embellishments. So it makes sense that she’d pop up again front-row at the brand’s couture show in Paris — both as a fan of the brand and an Oscar nominee. After all, with another Best Actress nomination at this year’s Academy Awards, and as one of the field’s frontrunners, she’ll need another gown worthy of a winner. Fellow Oscar nominee Nicole Kidman, herself up for an award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in Lion, was also in the front row — as a frequent red carpet ambassador for the brand, she’s likely also got her eye out for something for the big night. The two actresses wore their finest Armani for the occasion, taking in the runway with a critical eye. But while Kidman opted for staid black, Huppert went with a bright blue, vintage-inspired suit with a black mock-neck.

Who: Isabelle Huppert.

When: Tuesday, January 24.

Where: Front-row at the Armani Privé Spring 2017 show in Paris, France.

What: A periwinkle Armani suit with a black high-necked top and black pointy-toed pumps.

Why: Huppert proves that, like all the chicest Frenchwomen, she can rock ultra-feminine and kind of androgynous looks in equal measure. This slightly metallic, bright periwinkle suit, with its pleats, strong shoulders, and tortoiseshell buttons, is quite a midcentury office-attire look. Armani has favored cool tones lately, and between the Golden Globes and the front row, Huppert proves she can work them all. It’s a low-key look as far as the front row can go, just the kind of casual, yet polished attire an Oscar nominee can rock for a bit of window-shopping before the big day.
