Immy Waterhouse Steps Out at Christopher Kane with a Snarling Chimpanzee for Company
September is shaping up to be a great month for Suki Waterhouse’s younger model-actress sister Immy. Her new film Nocturnal Animals, Tom Ford’s follow-up to 2009’s A Single Man, debuted to near-universal acclaim at the Venice Film Festival at the beginning of the month. Now, like her sister, she’s doing the full London Fashion Week circuit, appearing out and about in London with Suki and sitting front-row at shows like Versus Versace and Christopher Kane. (Not to be upstaged, Suki is launching an accessories line with best friend Poppy Jamie next month.) At Kane, she was joined by a clutch of It girls and street style stars with cred to rival her own, including Poppy Delevingne, Veronika Heilbrunner (and, of course, Justin O’Shea), Jessica Hart, and Daisy Lowe. But while her peers wore sweet skirts and delicate, feminine blouses, Waterhouse went a bit of a different route.
Who: Immy Waterhouse.
When: Monday, September 19.
Where: Front row at Christopher Kane Spring 2017.
What: An oversized black sweatshirt with a snarling chimpanzee splashed across the front by Christopher Kane, cuffed boyfriend jeans with patches of orange, white, and black criss-crossing over them, and a pair of snow-white Converse All-Stars.
Why: No animals were harmed in the making of this look. Waterhouse nails the carefree front row look in this street-ready Christopher Kane ensemble. Slouchy denim, an oversized sweatshirt, and a fresh pair of Chucks, combined with a neutral lip and eye and just a bit of a dewy glow, add a slight feminine edge to a traditionally masculine look. When considered next to her Versus Versace front row look, a black minidress with an edgy, embellished clutch, black platforms, and a black cropped bomber, it becomes apparent what a style chameleon the young Waterhouse is shaping up to be. Animal kingdom merch: the look of fall 2016.
