While polka dots were a staple of Parisian “New Dior” women and the likes of Marilyn Monroe, the trend has been somewhat out of fashion in recent years. Now, thanks to appearances in the resort 2017 collections of Gucci, Michael Kors Alexander Wang and more, polka dots are prepared to make a bigger and bolder comeback. No longer just for ladies who lunch, today’s polka dots can be worn head-to-toe (à la Yayoi Kusama) or styled with boyish trousers.

To demonstrate the different ways to wear the trend, we’ve recruited three fresh new faces–models Ysaunny Brito, Marine Dellew, and Hannah Bennett–to add their own spin.

Ysaunny Brito, 22, hails from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and was happy to trade her winter parka for resort fashions. “I was home for the first time in three years last month, and I needed it so bad,” she said. “The winters in New York are horrible.”

Marine Dellow, 22, is a classic French girl from Lille, so not only does she know how to dress for the changing seasons, but she also does so effortlessly, citing Céline as her all-time favorite designer. “I moved to New York City two years ago, but I’ll always be French.” she said. “People in New York really care about how they look. Like, girls curl their hair in the morning to look pretty — they amaze me!”

Hannah Bennett, 21, is gritty rock n’ roll chick from London. She was first spotted by a scout on Instagram, although she says she’s “not an Insta girl by any means,” and only had around 300 followers at the time. Last year, she had a transformative career moment when the legendary hairstylist Guido Palau chopped her hair into a ‘70s-style mullet. “He looked at me and said, ‘Can we go short?’ And I was like, it’s Guido, I can’t say no,” she recalls. “But I grew to love it. I went out and bought a whole new wardrobe.” Little did she know, it was great practice for when Alexander Wang then asked her to bleach her eyebrows for spring 2017. This season, she’s game for anything.

Hannah Bennett wears Michael Kors Collection swimsuit, $297, and belt, $550, michaelkors.com; Alberta Ferretti trousers, $980, albertaferretti.com; Alexander Wang choker, $425, [nordstrom.com](http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/alexander-wang-double-wrap-choker/4480748?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=BLACK%20/%20SILVER%20/%20YELLOW%20GOLD); Paul Smith scarf, $190, paulsmith.co.uk; Alumnae shoes, $695, [alumnae.nyc](http://shop.alumnae.nyc/products/bootie-mule-black-patchwork-snake).
