Spring 2017 was a very artful season at New York Fashion Week. Designers not only pulled inspiration from various artworks, like Jason Wu did with David Hockney for Boss, but also cast the artists themselves as runway models, like the photographer Wolfgang Tillmans in Hood by Air, and the collector Thea Westreich at Eckhaus Latta. And photographer Juergen Teller was spotted in the crowd at Alexander Wang, while Maurizio Cattelan was spotted at Opening Ceremony’s “Pageant of the People.” Plus, Dan Colen turned up at Proenza Schouler and on Wednesday evening, the art world (and Raf Simons) went to support photographer Willy Vanderperre‘s show at Red Hook Labs. Oh, and Yeezy Season 4 designer Kanye West would like you to know he also has a P.h.D in art.

Here is every artist who was spotted at New York Fashion Week this season, on and off the runway.

Collector Thea Westreich and photographer Michael Bailey Gates walked in Eckhaus Latta, with painter Nate Lowman was also in the audience.

Multi-hyphonates Ana Kras joined and Susan Cianciolo at Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s debut show, which involved smashing pottery at a delightful dinner party.

Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard attended Vaquera at Redbull Studios.

Photographer Autumn de Wilde snapped the Rodarte show.

Painter and sculptor Chloe Wise attended smaller shows like Eckhaus Latta, Moses Gauntlett Cheng, and VFiles, as well as Marc Jacobs.
