THE LADIES IN RED

A Day Without a Woman: See Photographs from the Women’s Strike in New York City

Photographs by Angela Datre

Two months ago, an estimated three million people turned out for the largest protest in American history: the Women’s March on Washington. And that was just the beginning. On March 8th, the Women’s March leaders organized a Women’s Strike to coincide with International Women’s Day, and encouraged women to wear red as a sign of solidarity. Here, photographer Angela Datre captured the scene.
