Instagram Lights Up In Protest From Washington, D.C. to Paris

by Emilia Petrarca

Starting early Saturday morning, millions of people gathered for the Women’s March in cities around the world. The biggest crowd could be found in Washington, D.C., where President Donald Trump was inaugurated the day prior to a much smaller audience. An estimated 500,000 people marched in the Capital, plus around 250,000 down Fifth Avenue in New York City and thousands more abroad from Paris to Tokyo. What started as a Facebook event quickly translated to Instagram as well, with half a million #WomensMarch hashtags and counting. See how celebrities like Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Willow Smith, Amy Schumer, Janelle Monae, Lena Dunahm, and more showed solidarity IRL and on social media, here.
