At Houston’s Day For Night, Festival Season Is Literally Still Lit
Houston’s Day for Night festival is the best argument that festival season doesn’t end with the last days of summer. On Friday, festivalgoers from around the world descended on Texas’s most populous city for the new art-and-music festival — and to see Aphex Twin play his first American set in eight years. Now in its second year, Day for Night combines immersive light installations by the likes of James Blake collaborators United Visual Artists and the Björk-approved Shoplifter (as well as Björk herself, both in VR and IRL) with sets by an impressive roster of musicians including Thundercat, Blood Orange, Sophie, Banks, and Run the Jewels. Watch out, Austin.
