How the French Dress for the Ballet
On Saturday, the Paris Opera Ballet celebrated its 2016 season with an opening gala at the Palais Garnier. The likes of Ana Girardot, Soko, and Sofia Sanchez de Betak attended, doing subtle black tie right. Under the leadership of Stéphane Lissner, Director of the Paris Opera, and Aurélie Dupont, Director of Dance, the performance brought together the Etoiles dancers (dressed by the maison Dior, which supported the evening, along with Rolex), the Premiers Danseurs, the Corps de Ballet and all the students of the Paris Opera Ballet School and the Paris Opera Orchestra together on stage, where they performed two contemporary works and the Défilé du Ballet. Afterward, a six-course supper from three iconic Parisian chefs – Alexandre Gauthier, Katsuaki Okiyama, and David Toutain – was served, before guests moved to an after-party in the Rotonde des Abonnés.
