Since 2013, San Francisco‘s Museum of Modern Art has been quietly doubling their gallery spaces, tapping the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta to add a new oculus, balconies, and even a grand staircase to the original Mario Botta-designed structure. The result, which will be unveiled to the public on May 14, is spacious enough for 214-ton’s worth of art by Richard Serra, plus plenty of Alexander Calder mobiles – not to mention some seriously hangout-worthy bathrooms. Get a sneak peek here, thanks to an army of carefully curated Instagrammers.
