Katy Perry Roars for W‘s September Cover: “I Feel Very Free”

With a new album in Witness, a new tour kicking off next month and an upcoming stint on American Idol, Katy Perry is firing on all cylinders, an image brought to life in the augmented reality cover for W‘s September issue. Photographed by Steven Klein, who made 3-D scans of the images for our special Beyond the Page app, Perry is feeling more liberated than ever, telling Lynn Hirschberg, “I feel very free.” In fact, despite recent heartbreak, including Hillary Clinton’s electoral loss, Perry is fired up.”It’s more important to continue the fight,” she said. In particular, teenage girls give her inspiration: “Teenage girls can save the world! I saw that during the campaign. And that idea continues to give me faith.”
