Katy Perry at the Met Gala: See the Singer’s Outrageous Gowns on the Red Carpet (Including Her Comme des Garçons Gown)
Katy Perry has never been one to shy away from outrageous outfits on the red carpet. So it comes as a bit of a surprise that the singer’s debut at the 2009 Met Gala, which is an opportunity for celebrities to really go all out, was a demure Tommy Hilfiger gown topped off with a blunt black bob. The next year, however, Perry delivered the wacky fashion she is known for, wearing a CuteCircuit gown covered in 3,200 LED lights. It literally lit up the red carpet. After taking a brief break, Perry returned to the Met Gala in 2013, wearing a regal Dolce & Gabbana ensemble, and followed it up in 2015 with an eclectic Moschino dress. As co-chair of the annual gala in 2017, Perry dressed on theme, wearing a red Comme des Garçons gown. Here, a look back at Perry’s Met Gala looks over the years.
