ELECTION 2016: THE AFTERMATH
Incredible Images of the Thousands of New Yorkers Who Shut Down Traffic Protesting Donald Trump

On a dark and rainy Wednesday evening following the election of Donald Trump, an estimated 5,000 New Yorkers of every age, gender, race, and background took to the streets to make one thing clear: he is not their president (Clinton, of course, won New York state by 21 points, Manhattan by a hysterically whopping 77 points.) Just like in other coastal liberal capitals, marchers caused traffic to come to a standstill as they walked from Union Square all the way up to Columbus Circle, where Trump Tower loomed tall and ominous in a warm glow. Outside, chants – “Pussy grabs back; “Black lives matter;” “White silence equals violence;” “No more deportation;” and “Love trumps hate” – echoed for blocks.
