“Is there anybody there?” a disembodied voice called out repeatedly into the dark of New York Fashion Week on Wednesday before giving way to music and Anna Sui‘s sumptuous showing for Fall 2017. As it turned out, there was: no less than Gigi Hadid, who opened the show in deep blue eye shadow and double knots that matched the rest of Sui’s expected cast of supermodels, including Kendall Jenner, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jamie Bochert, Liu Wen, Taylor Hill, Julia Nobis, and Gigi’s sister, Bella Hadid.
