As the age-old adage goes, “the only bad workout is the one you didn’t do.” With so many workout trends cropping up, not to mention exercise studios in which to partake of them, can you blame us for just giving up and turning on HBO? But to give you some motivation, W has rounded up 10 workout studios offering new classes, techniques, machines, and locations that will get your blood flowing and body burning. From barre to boxing and rowing to running, choose a class and make it count!

Fhitting Room The high-intensity boutique fitness studio, which opened its two-story Flatiron location in March and, come July 4th, will pop up in the Hamptons, has become known for its Signature FHIX class, in which an attentive staff motivates a small group of clients through a fast-moving, total body, core and cardio workout. Starting this summer, the studio is launching FHIT Fundamentals, a hands-on form correction course for those who want to isolate the movements and fully get down the basics. Physique 57 For Spring, the barre-based, toning studio is kicked things up a notch with a new cardio burn class. Twist and tuck your way through fat-burning cardio burn sequences designed to strategically burn calories and chisel your into a statuesque goddess.

ModelFIT Justin Gelband and Vanessa Packer’s unmarked Bowery studio, a favorite among supermodels like Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo, and Miranda Kerr, recently added a dance cardio class to its repertoire taught by Javier Perez. The class, which is set to anything from house to 90s to rap, combines strengthening exercises you can find in the signature modelFIT routine with fast-paced cardio exercises to isolate and sculpt the lower body and abs while accelerating the heart rate and working up a sweat.

TheRun Co-founded by a world-renowned long distance runner, the newly opened 20-treadmill studio offers 45-minute classes like TheRUN Stroll to Stride 5k, TheRun Shaper, TheRun Endurance, and TheRUN Velocity, and for those who want to go that extra mile the TheRUN Long – a two hour class to practice endurance and long distance running—as well as personal training.

Bari Studio Known for their cardio-heavy hybrid method, BariStudio will introduce two new core-focused classes to their program classes over Memorial Day Weekend. The first, Barisadhana, a 30-minute meditation class which focuses on lengthening and posture while giving you the tools you need to calm your mind and enhance your commitment to wellness. The second class, Baripowerflow, is an athletic and sweat-drenched interpretation of vinyasa flow, in which Bari’s signature strength training is combined with both creative yoga sequences and dynamic stretching for a fast-paced, full-body, balanced workout.

ShadowBox Opening the second week of May 2015, this new Flatiron boxing studio which offers group classes and private sessions, promises to be the new go-to boxing destination. While the majority of each session will focus on mitt and bag work, each class is supplemented with core interval training and body weight exercises, so no muscle is left unworked. Before class gear up with a coffee or grab a post-class juice at the studio’s private café.

Orange Theory Fitness In this 60-minute high-intensity workout, gym-goers use equipment such as treadmills, water rowers, TRX, striders, bikes, free weights, bosu trainers, medicine balls and ab dolly rollers to push the body into maximum caloric burn, so clients will continue to burn calories for up to 36 hours after the workout. With over 200 studios around the country, the independently run franchise just opened their first NYC studio in Chelsea in early 2015, with plans to expand throughout Manhattan later this year

Pure Barre The cult barre program, which counts Anna Kendrick as one if it’s die-hard fans, will have the whole city toned as it opens 5 new studios in the coming months, the first one in the Financial District in June 2015 (with locations on the Upper West Side, Upper East Side, West Village, and Greenpoint opening throughout the year). While each Pure Barre class follows the same muscular progression and format, the instructors alter the technique and exercise to ensure that no two classes are ever exactly the same.

Flex Pilates With a location in Flatiron and their second location slated to open in NoHo mid- June 2015, the New York-based studio has been a mainstay on the barre/pilates scene for their three main classes: FLEXPilates, FLEXBarre and FLEX TRX. For Spring, FLEXstudios has introduced its’ brand new FLEXformer machine, a combination of the two most integral pieces of Pilates equipment – the Pilates Chair and the Reformer – all in one sleek apparatus. Made exclusively for the studio, the FLEXformer will be used in the FLEXPilates and FLEX 30/30 classes, and will be installed in their new NoHo studio as well.

Refine Method Founded by a Harvard-educated ballerina in 2010 in her search to develop the most focused and effective full body work out possible, Refine Method is the one-stop shop for cardio, strength and flexibility using custom, MIT-designed equipment. For those who want to break down the moves or introduce themselves to the signature fast-paced Refine Method class, the studio is launching Refine Ready on May 9th, a program designed for clients looking to master the essentials of their signature class.
