At New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2017 collections, designers proved that minimal doesn’t have to be simple. Tory Burch, for example, used black oversized bows to elevate a classic low ponytail, while Altuzarra relied on embellished headbands to add some sparkle to the look at his show. Models at Alexander Wang walked the runway with wet locks in all different colors and cuts for a grungier look; Proenza Schouler models kept their hair slicked down in natural, tousled locks; and models at Brandon Maxwell showed us that bolder is better as they transformed their natural curls into amplified, voluminous manes.
