Balenciaga Model Radhika Nair Shares Her Powerful Photographs of India

Before walking for Balenciaga at Paris Fashion Week, model Radhika Nair pent her spare time photographing her friends back home in Kerala, India. “I like photographing people who will have no inhibitions,” she said of her subjects. Her work behind the camera has also prepared her to be in front of it: “The kind of photography I love is where the subject is a part of its environment,” she said. “I try to be a part of the environment too, and that is so much more powerful as an image.” Here, she shares her work to a mass audience for the first time.
