Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy Lead the Supermodel Parade That Was Dries Van Noten’s 100th Runway Show
If you’re going to have a celebration on the runway, why not make it a supermodel-filled one? That is exactly what Belgian designer Dries van Noten did today for his Fall 2017 collection, which also marked his 100th runway show. The nostalgia-filled affair came two-fold. First, there were the aforementioned models, a true who’s who of the runway past and present. Among those hitting the catwalk: Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta, Malgosia Bela, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Julia Nobis, Liya Kebede, Mica Arganaraz, Trish Goff, Caroline de Maigret, Sasha Pivovarova, Jamie Bochert, Nadja Auermann, and Alek Wek–all of whom had previously walked for van Noten at some point over the course of their career. Also a repeat appearance: the prints featured in the clothes themselves, a greatest hits of van Noten’s past collections. Still for all the nods to the past, there was plenty of newness, as well, evident in vinyl suits, sequined overcoats, and iridescent fabrics.
