A Glorious End to the Summer Art Season in Montauk
Art is seasonal in the Hamptons, and another summer of galas has gone by. Last night, the Surf Lodge in Montauk saved some of the best for last, with the provocative art duo Justin Lowe and Jonah Freeman’s exhibition of paintings. After the opening, Arden Wohl hosted a dinner in the sand, while MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden DJed and Wild Belle performed. The next morning, the gallerist Bill Powers was spotted driving to the beach — he had a surfing date, maybe the last of the season, with Julian Schnabel.
